Update planners with Agenda and HW!

  1. Binder Checks:
      • College tutors will come to class to collect students' binders and check them.
    • Students fill out Binder Check Forms, mark notes with stickies and turn in binders to tutors by ASAP!
    • Students will start grammar work (#2 below) while tutors check binders.
    • Allow students to pick up their binders by row after the tutors leave.
    • Keep binder checks for teacher to record scores.
  2. Grammar Books p. 5, 6, 7, 8
      • Read the instructions to students to clarify types of pronouns at the top of p. 5 (antecedents/personal pronouns) and p. 7 (reflexive/intensive pronouns). (9:40-10:15, or only until tutors are finished with binders!)
    • Complete exercises on p.5-8.
    • Complete as homework if not finished!
    • "My English" LB p. 121 Literary Analysis "Voice"
      • Make a new page in your journal.
      • Copy the Voice Graphic Organizer, including the examples. (Teacher will display on Elmo projector)
      • With a partner, find examples from the story that show times the author had the following "voice" (attitude). You must include 1 example of a sentence and at least 3 examples of words to show each voice. Include the p. # and paragraph #for each example!
        1. playful and humorous
        2. poetic
        3. confident and at ease
        4. confused and excluded
  3. Idioms
    • If any time left, hand out and complete idioms worksheets.
